R.I.P Brittany Murphy

Before I begin I just had to take a moment to mention the passing of Brittany Murphy. She passed away Sunday morning at the age of 32. The cause of death hasnt been confirmed, but cardiac arrest was mentioned.

November 10, 1977-December 20, 2009
I just wanted to take time to remember what a talented young actress she was. One of my favorite movies is Clueless. Thats how I first came to know her. Little Black Book and Just Married are also two other movies that are really cute and funny. And even if you never heard her name, I'm sure you have heard her talent at best. It's kind of weird that my last game blog featured Hank Hill, because Brittany actually voiced the character of Hank's niece Luanne Platter. She also voiced several other characters on the show. She was a very talented person, and it's a shame she wasnt more recognized. May she always be remembered for the fabulous work she did as an actress. I know that now every time I watch King of the Hill I'll be reminded that another talented person left this world far too soon.

R.I.P Brittany Murphy.

2009 VMA's...Rant Included.

It's no secret that I'm a huge country music fan...but I also appreciate other types of music as well and I always love watching all the music award shows. Well except the BET Awards but whatever. I was especially excited about watching the VMA's last might because Taylor Swift was up for her very first VMA award. Her being a country music singer made it even more special because its rare for country singers to get recognized by MTV...never mind she isn’t traditional country. When she won the Award tonight for Best Female Video I was overjoyed because I honestly thought Lady Gaga or Beyonce was going to win. So when her named was called I started clappin (I like to pretend I'm there lol) and whoo hooing for her because I was sooo happy!! You can tell by the look on her face that she wasn’t expecting to win either and that she was really honored to be standing there. For Kanye West to come out and ruin her moment like that was FUCKED UP...majorly FUCKED UP. I have never liked his attention craving, egotistical ass to begin with. The first time he pissed me off is when he bitched about losing to Gretchen Wilson for Best New Artist at the Grammy's....but what he did tonight was low even for him. Rushing on stage and grabbing the mic from her like that... It was down right disrespectful...poor Taylor looked like she was going to cry. That wasn’t the time to voice his opinions....nor was it his fuckin place. If Beyonce felt like she got jipped then Beyonce could have said something. Kanye West just needs to keep his fuckin mouth shut and sing....not only did he ruin Taylor's moment, he also ruined the moment for her fans as well. Kanye is one inconsiderate motherfucker. I can only hope that one day when he's standing up about to accept an award ...somebody bombards him on stage and makes his ass look like a fool. I seriously don’t understand why he think he’s gotta put his two cents in every damn thing. What a douchbag loser.
On another note....even though I think Beyonce's song Single Ladies is seriously overrated (I find it borderline retarded)....I think what she did for Taylor was really sweet. I'm glad Beyonce won....though me being happy she won has more to due to the fact the Kanye lost. But inviting Taylor back on stage to finish her speech and saying what she said showed what a wonderful person she is. I still think her song is stupid...but her dance moves tonight were CRAZY. She knows how to freakin perform.

Madonna's tribute to Michael Jackson was one of my fave moments of the night. I've never really liked Madonna, but she actually moved me and got me a lil teary eyed. I also loved the dancers performing all the MJ moves on stage. I didn’t care for Janet Jackson though I must say. I liked Katy Petty's Queen cover and Taylor Swift did awesome as usual...though I was thrown off by her performance on the subway. I didn’t think it fit the song, but it was still kool.

My fave performance of the night was Pink...all I can say is WOW! That was one hell of a performance....all those moves up in the air like that...I was scared she was going to kill herself!! lol!

One of the stupidest damn performances I ever did see had to go to Lady Gaga tonight... I'm now gonna start refereeing to her as Lady BarfBarf. What the hell is the appeal with her?? I cant for the life of me figure it out!! The song Paparazzi is so damn stupid...and the way she dresses...WTF???

Oooh the New Moon trailer they showed was freakin awesome!!! I cant wait!!!! It was almost as good as the sweet sound of booing every time Kanye's name was mentioned ;-)

"Kanye West is the biggest piece of shit on earth. Quote me," . "My heart goes out to Taylor Swift. She is a sweet and talented girl, and deserved her moment. She should know we all love her." - Pink

West Memphis Three Injustice!

I am so glad that Natalie Maines has decided to use her big mouth for a good cause. I was reading the news section of when I came across a story that I haven't thought about in a while. Natalie Maines is encouraging donations for legal fees to free the West Memphis Three. She believes they were wrongly accused of murder and I have to say that I completely agree. I'm not sure how many of you have heard the story so I'll do my best to recap.

In 1993, three eight-year-old boys were found mutilated in West Memphis, Arkansas. The police quickly took three teenagers who were considered outcasts into custody: Damien Echols, Jason Baldwin, and Jessie Misskelley. And after the police coerced a "confession" out of Jessie, whom I might add is mentally handicapped, after 12 hours of questioning without counsel or parental consent, all three were arrested and convicted of murder in 1994. There was no physical evidence or motive presented in the case.

I first heard about this case after watching the HBO documentary "Paradise Lost: The Child Murders at Robin Hood Hills." What intrigued me about it was the fact that they found all three guilty without any hard evidence at all, just because they were linked to the Wiccan religion. Instead of presenting physical evidence in the case, they used the fact that Damien had black hair, listened to heavy metal, and read Wicca books as so called proof that they had murdered these boys for a satanic cult ritual. The sad thing is that it worked.

Now what really shocked me was after I watched the second HBO documentary "Paradise Lost 2: Revelations." If anybody watches it and still thinks that these men are guilty, they are insane. It was revealed in this documentary that John Mark Byers, the father of one of the boys that was murdered, had a knife that had the boy's and his DNA on it. The man at first told the police that the knife had never been used, and then he changed his story and said that he cleaned a deer and cut himself in the process. He wasn't sure how the boy's blood was on it. And if you don't find that odd..when the three boys were found mutilated, there was marks found on them that were possible teeth imprints. Echols, Misskelley and Baldwin all submitted their teeth imprints to be compared (after their imprisonment) and no matches were found. John Mark Byers had all of his teeth removed after the first trail. Hmmm..makes you think. And it still doesn't end there. More evidence was found that linked two new suspects, Terry Wayne Hobbs, the step father of one of the boys, and his friend David Jacoby (who has a history of sexual offenses and violence.)

Even after all the new revelations that have been found, 14 years later Damien Echols is still in prison, awaiting death by lethal injection. Jessie Misskelley and Jason Baldwin are also still serving out their sentences to life in prison. I didn't mean to turn into Anne Rule here, but I just find the entire case shocking. It's like I said. I agree 100% with Natalie Maines. I do not believe that Damien or his friends had anything to do with the three boys deaths.
